Update as of May 6, 2020
We are pleased to let our patients know that the Alberta Dental Association and College is allowing us to see patients with urgent needs, but they have restrictions and strict guidelines to follow. They recommend we remotely screen our patients first, so please call our office to begin this process, so that we can set up an in-office visit.
Our “New” office hours for this next phase are Monday to Thursday from 9-5, by appointment only. We need to limit the amount of people in the clinic, so you will be asked to meet us at the back entrance of the building with a face covering or mask over your mouth and nose, we will have you use hand sanitizer, and then bring you into your treatment room.
With very limited supplies of PPE, we will have to triage patients based on your level of emergency until more access to PPE comes available. Thank you for your patience and know that your health and safety, as well as our Team’s, is our top priority.

Get the Relief from Your Headaches and Facial Pain
TMJ disorders usually cause pain in the jaw joint and the peripheral muscles that control jaw movement. Although the exact cause for a person's TMJ disorder is a little difficult to determine, you're advised to seek medical help to determine the root cause. Sometimes the pain you are experiencing may be due to a combination of several factors that includes jaw injury, genetics, and arthritis. At Canmore Downtown Dental, we can help you with the following treatments:
Wisdom teeth removal
Wisdom teeth are the third and last molars on each side of your jaws. It’s not necessary to remove your wisdom teeth unless they cause pain. However, if they happen to cause pain, we can remove it for you.
Periodontal treatment (gum surgery)/Gum disease
Before surgery, we perform cleaning, which is called scaling and root planning. This is used to remove plaque and tartar deposits on your teeth. This procedure usually helps your gum tissue to heal and periodontal pockets to shrink. Later we fold the gums back to form a flap to access the tissue below your gums.
Muscle and joint evaluations are done on patients, and these evaluations take some time. TMD diagnosis is done considering several factors including the history, clinical findings obtained during a physical examination, and laboratory and imaging results.
Preserving Your Natural Teeth
We provide restorative dentistry that primarily involves treating dental conditions which are affecting your teeth, gums, and jaw. They include:
Ceramic or Gold Crowns
If you need a crown but you’re worried how it will look, a ceramic crown is a great option. Ceramic crowns give the most natural appearance, with the same reliable function as a gold crown. We can discuss choices best for your teeth and appearance.
CEREC is a Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. Using a 3D imaging system to create digital impressions of the teeth, the CEREC computer and milling unit fabricates your crown precise dimensions much less that the thickness of floss. It can also make bridges, onlays, inlays, the same day. Being convenient and the latest in advanced CAD CAM technology, it saves you having impressions, wearing a temporary for 1-2 weeks, returning for more freezing. One appointment and done, with custom shading and fired in an onsite kiln for extra strength and wearability.
A dental bridge is a fixed dental restoration that is used to replace your missing teeth by joining an artificial tooth. This artificial tooth is joined to your adjacent teeth or dental implants. A bridge will help us cover the area where your teeth are missing.
Implants will give you the look, feel, and function of your natural teeth. They will enhance your self-confidence and there will be no need to worry about smiling or speaking in public because of missing teeth. You are able to enjoy food again with natural biting and chewing. If you or someone you know suffers from loose, uncomfortable dentures, cannot chew their favorite foods, or has missing teeth, talk to us about setting up an implant consultation with Dr. Bagley.
Root canal treatment
Root canal treatment is also called endodontic therapy, endodontic treatment, or root canal therapy. This is a treatment procedure for the removal of the infected pulp of a tooth. During the procedure, after the removal, a temporary filling is placed until the next appointment. At the next appointment, the dentist will sterilize the inside of the tooth and remove the bacteria. Then, the root canal and pulp chamber are filled and sealed.
The dental restoration or dental filling is a treatment to restore the function, and integrity of missing tooth structure resulting from caries or external trauma. It may also act as the replacement of such structure supported by dental implants.
Dental inlays and onlays are used when your old fillings need to be removed and replaced. A dental inlay is similar to a filling, and it fits inside your cusp tips (top edges) of the tooth.
One technique is bonding white filling material matched to your teeth onto the teeth. This is used for small chips, or spaces that may have occurred to the teeth from wear or perhaps a small trauma.
Also color matched to your existing teeth are porcelain veneers are thin layers of porcelain, enamel and bonded to your teeth, that cover cracks, stains, and other minor. The end result is a smooth and even finish with an exact fit. We also do mock ups to show you how your teeth could look before we have even started!
Teeth whitening involves the restoration of your natural tooth shade or whitening your teeth beyond its natural shade. Restoration is possible by just removing surface stains caused by extrinsic factors such as tea, coffee, red wine, cigarettes, and so on. We use quality products from Philips Zoom for the whitening procedure. These products provide for variable intensity settings and convenient whitening of teeth. We use tested materials and do it in a safe environment.
There are many causes of stained teeth such as coffee, tea, colas, and tobacco. The use of some antibiotics may also stain teeth. Teeth naturally yellow and darken over time as a natural part of aging. If you feel your teeth aren’t as white as you’d like them to be, book a complimentary whitening consultation with us today.
Dr. Bagley has invested in the #1 whitening machine available in Canada. The Rembrandt sapphire light crystal and power whitening system attain results superior to any take home kits. One visit, one hour of treatment, and your teeth look 10 –15 years younger.
We offer three choices in Whitening Systems, all varying in cost to suit your budget. Come in and see which one may be an option to brighten up your smile. If you have experienced the benefits of whitening first hand, and would like to share it with a friend, we sell whitening gift certificates as well. Contact us for details.

Incredibly Impressed of the Service
“Canmore Downtown Dental went absolutely above and beyond for me. I was visiting from BC for a wedding. At the same time, I also managed to require some emergency dental work. I was in a lot of pain! Their office got me in right away, were kind, took care of the issue and the doctor gave me her cell in case anything got worse over the weekend! So incredibly impressed of the service I received as a non-patient. Thank you.”
