Update as of May 6, 2020
We are pleased to let our patients know that the Alberta Dental Association and College is allowing us to see patients with urgent needs, but they have restrictions and strict guidelines to follow. They recommend we remotely screen our patients first, so please call our office to begin this process, so that we can set up an in-office visit.
Our “New” office hours for this next phase are Monday to Thursday from 9-5, by appointment only. We need to limit the amount of people in the clinic, so you will be asked to meet us at the back entrance of the building with a face covering or mask over your mouth and nose, we will have you use hand sanitizer, and then bring you into your treatment room.
With very limited supplies of PPE, we will have to triage patients based on your level of emergency until more access to PPE comes available. Thank you for your patience and know that your health and safety, as well as our Team’s, is our top priority.

Get the Relief from Your Headaches and Facial Pain
TMJ disorders usually cause pain in the jaw joint and the peripheral muscles that control jaw movement. Although the exact cause for a person's TMJ disorder is a little difficult to determine, you're advised to seek medical help to determine the root cause. Sometimes the pain you are experiencing may be due to a combination of several factors that includes jaw injury, genetics, and arthritis. At Canmore Downtown Dental, we can help you with the following treatments:
Wisdom teeth removal
Wisdom teeth are the third and last molars on each side of your jaws. It’s not necessary to remove your wisdom teeth unless they cause pain. However, if they happen to cause pain, we can remove it for you.
Periodontal treatment (gum surgery) / Gum Disease
Before surgery, we perform cleaning, which is called scaling and root planning. This is used to remove plaque and tartar deposits on your teeth. This procedure usually helps your gum tissue to heal and periodontal pockets to shrink. Later we fold the gums back to form a flap to access the tissue below your gums.
Muscle and joint evaluations are done on patients, and these evaluations take some time. TMD diagnosis is done considering several factors including the history, clinical findings obtained during a physical examination, and laboratory and imaging results.

Incredibly Impressed of the Service
“Canmore Downtown Dental went absolutely above and beyond for me. I was visiting from BC for a wedding. At the same time, I also managed to require some emergency dental work. I was in a lot of pain! Their office got me in right away, were kind, took care of the issue and the doctor gave me her cell in case anything got worse over the weekend! So incredibly impressed of the service I received as a non-patient. Thank you.”
