DENTAL CLEANING

We can’t stress enough the importance of dental hygiene for your overall oral health. Brushing and flossing twice a day is a good start, but, sadly, it’s not sufficient. Regular dental checkups play a vital role in the detection, prevention, and treatment of dental conditions if any. It is recommended that every 6 months, you visit a dentist for a cleaning dental service. Bacteria in your gum can cause serious problems, which may be related to heart diseases. Don’t wait for the symptoms to force you to schedule an appointment. Be proactive and get in touch with Canmore Downtown Dental.

It’s important that we place great emphasis on communication and our patients’ concerns for esthetics, comfort, and finances. Our treatment coordinator will work with you from start to finish with any treatment or financial options you choose. We provide all our patients with options for completing treatment and the opportunity to have a healthy, beautiful smile!

We are committed to providing the highest quality dental & hygiene services possible in a friendly, comfortable environment. Our dental hygiene staff are all trained and experienced, caring professionals. They are charged with the treatment and prevention of periodontal diseases. Your comfort and well-being is very important to them. Our dental assistants are indispensable members of our dental team who help make your visit a pleasant and comfortable experience.

Ask us if the laser can benefit you in any way.

VELSCOPE® ORAL SCREENING

Have you heard of the VELscope®? We have a new wellness exam within our office. It dramatically improves our ability to screen for oral abnormalities that could lead to cancer. Because early detection is essential to increase chances for successful treatment, we have acquired VELscope®. VELscope® is a state-of-the-art, painless, non-evasive, screening tool that helps us to see what we cannot see with the unaided eye. Please ask for details so we can set aside time to do a VELscope® oral cancer screening examination. It takes only about five potentially lifesaving minutes to conduct this examination. Please ask us to learn more about the VELscope®.

ORAL VITAL TESTING

Your oral health is an integral part of your overall health. Gum disease bacteria can attack your gums and cause inflammation, bad breath and even loss of teeth. Early detection is helpful to achieve better results. At Canmore Downtown Dental, we conduct the oral vital testing/oral vital scan to detect precancerous conditions and cancers.

COLD SORES

Cold sores are small sores which are blister-like lesions on the lips, chin, cheeks, inside the nostrils, and occasionally on the gums or the top of the mouth. The herpes simplex virus strain HSV-1 usually causes cold sores. It may lead to further complications such as encephalitis in patients with a weakened immune system. We use the laser for the treatment of cold sores and gum diseases. Call us to schedule a consultation.

GUM DISEASES

Periodontitis is also commonly known as gum disease or periodontal disease. Gum diseases begin with bacterial growth in your mouth. It’s necessary to seek medical attention because it may end with a tooth loss due to the destruction of the tissue that surrounds your teeth. We provide individualized treatment which include, more frequent cleanings, scaling and root planning, curettage, gingivectomy, and eventually flap surgery.

DENTAL SEALANTS

Dental Sealants are thin, plastic coating painted on the tooth surface to form a protective barrier against tooth decay. These sealants firmly bond into the depressions and grooves of your teeth. So, basically, they form a protective shield over the enamel of each tooth.

PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

Every child has a unique set of dental needs. Timely and appropriate dental care needs to be provided to children to ensure proper growth of teeth. Regular dental check-ups and hygiene visits can help prevent childhood cavities and other dental issues, if any, at an early stage. Trust us with taking care of your child’s oral health. Our pediatric dentistry services focus on prevention and early detection of dental diseases and individualized treatment for your child.

Our child-centred team is patient in assisting children and adolescents and provides them with compassionate care and oral education. We aim at establishing a trusting relationship with our young patients to make them feel comfortable during their dental visits. Schedule an appointment today.

DENTAL X-RAYS

Over the years as X-ray technology has been evolving with the new digital imaging technology, you can rest assured that there is very minimal exposure to radiation. At Canmore Downtown Dental, we do various dental X-rays to determine the state and structure of your teeth. Among the many X-rays performed, we provide:

  • Panoramic

Panoramic X-ray shows a view of the entire mouth including jaw, bone and nasal area. It is commonly taken for new patients, orthodontic treatment, wisdom teeth removal, and to check eruption patterns.

  • Bite-wing

Bite-wing X-rays are used for cavity detection, the bite wings allow us to see in between the teeth and detect changes in the jaw bone caused by gum disease.

  • Cephalometric

Cephalometric X-ray also referred as a ceph, is primarily used for orthodontic treatments.

  • Periapical X-ray

A PA X-ray is one of the more detailed X-rays to show a specific area of concern. It often focuses on one tooth, and checks for abscesses at the root of the tooth.

Incredibly Impressed of the Service

“Canmore Downtown Dental went absolutely above and beyond for me. I was visiting from BC for a wedding. At the same time, I also managed to require some emergency dental work. I was in a lot of pain! Their office got me in right away, were kind, took care of the issue and the doctor gave me her cell in case anything got worse over the weekend! So incredibly impressed of the service I received as a non-patient. Thank you.”
